For some time, the trend in workplace design has been opening up the space and tearing down the walls to collaboration and innovation. A recent article in Building Design & Construction entitled: “The see-through office: Why interior glass is all the rage in workplace design”, discusses that, over the past ten years, the average size of offices has shrunk by 30%. That trend coincides with the growing popularity of interior glass for offices construction and renovation.
Glass is being used to reduce space but still give the appearance of openness, according to the article, but what about privacy and acoustics? According to the article, privacy can be attained by using products such as switchable glass, which electronically darkens the panels and colored laminated glass which can also be great for displaying logos.
